Beaches / Activities
Whether you are looking for the ideal spot to build sand castles, play beach games, soak up the sun, crabbing in the rock pools, or surfing the waves; the beaches of North Devon and Cornwall offer a huge variety of fun and activities.
Locally, the vast sandy beaches of Widemouth Bay and Bude provide quality Family fun time. Bude has a tidal swimming pool that’s always full and both beaches have Lifeguards during the seasonal months.
To the north there are the sandy beaches at Westward Ho!, Northam, and the extensive Saunton Sands, which is ideal for surfers, walkers and kite flyers. To the south we have the picturesque Crackington Haven, with it’s cliff flanked sand and pebble beach and “Rick Steins” Padstow, with wide sandy beaches and tufted sand dunes to explore.
Windsurfing can also be great fun on the windier days, as is skim boarding on calm days. And for those prepared to push the boundaries, spectacular diving is available around Lundy Island.
Dogs are welcome on most beaches, however, there are some restrictions in place during the Seasonal months.
